Assignments are submitted to Turnitin though the UniLearn system. To submit an assignment, go to UniLearn (http://unilearn.hud.ac.uk). Log in using your login details. From the Modules tab, access the module to which you have to submit your assignment. The Turnitin submission point for you assignment will normally be located under the Assignments or Assessments area of your module. If you cannot find it, contact your tutor who will be able to tell you exactly where it is. To submit your assignment, click on the View/Complete button below the TurnitinUK Assignment that has been set up for your submission.
This handy video will show you exactly how to submit you assignment:
Use the menu at the left side of the screen to navigate to the assignments for your chosen module. If there is no menu at the left, click on the < symbol at the left to restore the menu. If the assignment that you want to submit is not available, then you will need to contact your lecturer/course coordinator/tutor.
If you have successfully submitted your paper, Turnitin will display a digital receipt – this is confirmation that your assignment has been successfully submitted. You can note the paper ID number and/or print this out for your records. You will also receive an electronic receipt (via e-mail) for your submission. It is important that you keep this electronic receipt. If you do not receive an electronic receipt, please email your tutor with the assignment attached explaining the situation.
Check the size of your file. Large files will take longer to upload. Files with images may also take time to upload. Check if there are any specific error messages when you try to upload your file - this may indicate the problem. If you are still having problems uploading your file, please contact your tutor. If your file contains images, you may remove the images or save the file as a rich text or plain text file to make the file smaller. If your file is a PDF and exceeds the 20 MB restriction:
- copy the text in the document,
- change the upload process to 'copy and paste', and
- paste the text in the body field
MS Word, WordPerfect, Rich Text Format, PDF, Postscript, HTML, and Plain text
The maximum file size is 20 MB. You can reduce the size of your files by removing images. Files that are password protected, encrypted, hidden, system files, or read only files cannot be uploaded or submitted to Turnitin. Files cannot exceed 400 pages
You will need to contact your lecturer/course coordinator/tutor - they will be able to remove your assignment. You will then be able to resubmit it to the correct place.
Unfortunately it was your responsibility to have checked that the assignment that you submitted was the correct version. The version that you have already submitted is what will be marked.
