Academic Skills Tutors are a well-established source of assistance and help with academic development for students at the University. Tutors also make a significant contribution to publication, conference activity, innovation and professional service within higher education. This page details some of the activities undertaken by tutors.
Innovation & Projects
Pat Hill is joint leader of a 2010-11 Huddersfield University funded project entitled: A University framework to promote the integration of learning development into the student experience. Academic Skills Tutors and Computing & Library staff are co-operating to collate models of good practice in embedding learning development from across the University. David Arthurs has been involved in producing a Student Toolkit which will be available for students in the School of Human & Health Sciences.
David Arthurs serves as a nominated member of the Higher Education Funding Council’s (HEFC) Disability Issues Panel. Pat Hill is a member of the working party on professional development for the Association of Learning Development in Higher Education (ALDinHE).
