Enterprise Placement Year

Instead of an internship or placement with an employer, why not think about setting up your own business or working for yourself?

Enterprise Placement Year is an alternative placement where you can spend the year exploring, researching and starting in business or self-employment.

You don’t need an earth-shattering new idea – this isn’t Dragons’ Den – just enthusiasm and ambition!

Enterprise Placement Year (EPY) runs from August until May. You will be based in The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre and will have the support of The Enterprise Team throughout the year. The Team will work with you to help you develop your ideas and make a success of your business.

During EPY you can apply for a Proof of Concept grant of up to £500 to help prove that your business idea is a winner, as well as benefiting from the hot desk office facilities in The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre. You will be required to attend our weekly enterprise skills and networking sessions.

We'll work with you to help you make a success of your business.  Following your placement year, you can continue to access our support and services through DOYYEC Membership.
