Liz McPolin Dance Education Consultant
Liz McPolin set up her dance consultancy in 2017 following an extensive career as a dance teacher and adviser spanning thirty-six years. It was her desire to improve pupil engagement in dance and share her wealth of experience which led her to form her consultancy. Whether in Primary, Secondary and Further Education, creativity has been at the heart of her work.
Drawing on past experience of delivering CPD in a range of Local Education Authorities, Liz offers training to both teachers and student teachers in schools and university settings respectively. She is developing training packages with a specific focus on STEM subjects. This cross-curricular approach will improve the attainment of pupils in these subjects through their engagement in an artistic and physical activity.
Liz intends to develop her work further within community settings by offering dance classes and workshops to children and adults of all ages. This initiative will be a way of tackling inactivity and addressing health issues within communities.
Liz accessed support from The Enterprise Team to set up her business after completing her MA in Teaching and Learning at the University of Huddersfield.
