July ceremonies

The full timetable is published in the January preceding the July ceremonies. In the meantime, please be aware:

  • Invitations to the ceremonies are issued to all final year students in anticipation of the successful completion of their course in time for the ceremonies; you must not wait to receive your results before you register your wish to attend.  If you are unsuccessful your attendance will be automatically cancelled and a refund issued.
  • Invitations are issued via your 'My Details' account and an email and text message notifying you of the invitation will be sent in March preceding the ceremonies to your student email account, any personal email account and any mobile phone number held on file. Please ensure that the details the University holds for you are correct before the end of February.  Invitations are not sent via the post.
  • Students may apply for TWO guest tickets in the first instance.
  • To ensure that the ceremonies are fully utilised, they are oversubscribed at the initial invitation stage to take into account those students who subsequently do not pass their course and those who choose not to attend.  Therefore, depending on the pass and acceptance rates, it is possible that some ceremonies will have additional tickets and that other ceremonies will not.  Wherever additional tickets are available, they will be put on sale.
  • Closing dates for registration of attendance and payment for guest tickets must be adhered to in order to guarantee seats in the venue. The dates will be advertised as part of the invitation process. Due to the limited capacity of the Hall, requests to attend after these dates can not be guaranteed and it may not be possible to offer guest tickets for St Paul's.
  • Although ceremonies are held in both July and November each year, students will only receive an invitation to attend the ceremonies immediately following their Course Assessment Board; students are not permitted to choose the ceremony they wish to attend and may not defer their attendance.
  • Students who owe a debt to the University which is not cleared by the deadline will forfeit their chance to attend the ceremonies. The date will be advertised as part of the invitation process.
  • Certificates are not issued at the ceremonies; these are posted to your home address within four months of your Course Assessment Board.
