Enactus Huddersfield is a student-run, not-for-profit social enterprise company based at the University of Huddersfield. We create and deliver social enterprises to make a difference to the lives of others within the local area.
Coming soon to University campus, we will be selling smoothie bowls with a variety of toppings.
We have been working on a new project focused on helping homeless individuals in Huddersfield by collecting donations to create care packages.
On becoming an Enactus team in 2017, our newly formed society was given the opportunity to take ownership of derelict, unused land owned by the University of Huddersfield. Located in Lockwood, the space holds 4 industrial greenhouses that have been previously used to accommodate unsuccessful student projects. Ownership of these greenhouses saw the creation of Enactus Huddersfield’s first project; Glasshouses.
Glasshouses provides affordable, sustainably grown fresh produce to the community and utilising revenue to positively impact the lives of those most at risk in the Kirklees area.
With a successful funding application to NUS Student Eats and partnership with other social enterprises including Clem’s Garden, Enactus Huddersfield are utilising all available networks to initiate Glasshouses.
We competed at National Expo in 2018 and won the Rookie League!
