To be eligible for the Laptop Bursary students must meet the following criteria:
The Huddersfield Scholarship programme in 2020/21 provides a £1000 bursary to students who meet the Huddersfield Scholarship criteria. This is normally administered and awarded in January and February of each year, after completion of term one and once student qualifications and family income are confirmed.
Students who are assessed as eligible for the Huddersfield Scholarship will be notified in December 2020.
Students eligible for and choosing to use the £500 Laptop Bursary in term 1 of 2020/21 who are subsequently confirmed as eligible for the Huddersfield Scholarship will receive a £500 cash scholarship.
Students who do not access the £500 Laptop Bursary in term 1 of 2020/21 who are subsequently confirmed as eligible for the Huddersfield Scholarship will receive a £1000 cash scholarship in February.
You do not need to apply for either the Bursary or the Scholarship. The University will contact you using the information provided to support your enrolment and student finance awards.
If you are in receipt of a full UK maintenance loan you will meet the income criteria, and the University will confirm your eligibility with you.
Students eligible for the Laptop Bursary will be contacted from 14 September onwards once their enrolment is completed. A weekly update will ensure newly enrolled students and updated household income data is considered and used.
The Laptop Bursary Scheme will close on the 30 November; thereafter students will be assessed against the Huddersfield Scholarship criteria.
