Mental health difficulties

If you have a long-term mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or bipolar, you can access support through Disability Services. Please complete the registration form and you will be linked with one of our advisers. There are a range of adjustments we can put in place, some examples include:

  • Support to catch up with your studies if you miss taught session.
  • The right to request extensions to coursework deadlines or additional time to borrow books from the library.
  • Extra time in exams.

You may also be eligible for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and we can support you to apply. This government fund can offer more support such as a study mentor, or specialist software to assist with note taking or planning. Please see the DSA section on the website.

You can also link with Wellbeing Services and there is a range of support either through appointments with advisers or 24/7 support online.
