Can I reapply after being withdrawn?
If you have been withdrawn with outstanding attempts available on your modules, you may
be able to reapply to join the course again after one year’s absence.
If you have failed one or more modules twice, and the modules are core or compulsory (that is there are no alternative modules you can take), then you will not be able to reapply for the same course or courses where the curriculum includes any of your failed modules.
If you are successful at rejoining the course, your previous attempt and marks for the modules will be carried over and you will have one full attempt (or partial attempt) at passing any failed modules and your marks will be capped at the pass mark.
If you wish, you may also apply for a different course at the University subject to meeting course entry criteria which you can check through Course finder.
Using credit gained from a previous course to carry over into a new course or new enrolment of the same course is a process called Accreditation of Prior Learning or Approved Prior Learning (APL). For further details on how much credit you can APL and the University regulations on APL, see Section 3 of Regulations for awards. If you have received an award for the credit that you want to APL into the new course or new enrolment for your course, you will need to return any certificate that you have received. See Section 4.4 of Regulations for awards.
