National Student Survey

What is the NSS?
The National Student Survey (NSS) is conducted annually and offers YOU, as a final year undergraduate the chance to give feedback on your entire time here at Huddersfield.

Why should I take part?
Your views really do matter to us, as we want to know first-hand what it’s like to study here at Huddersfield!
Your feedback helps the University carry on doing what we do well but also make improvements for the future generations of students.

How can I take part?
Final year undergraduate students who are eligible to take part will receive a personalised email invitation from Ipsos MORI.

What is the NSS?
The NSS is conducted independently by market research company Ipsos MORI and your responses are confidential therefore your tutor cannot identify you from your response.
The NSS is extremely important, as your Student Voice will help to shape the University and the student experience, both for students who are already here and those who’ll join us in the future. The NSS results are made publicly available and your feedback helps prospective students decide where and what to study.
When completing the survey we ask you to consider your whole experience at Huddersfield, from your time as a fresher right up to now.
It only takes about ten minutes to complete the core NSS questions and includes questions about:
- Teaching on my course
- Learning Opportunities
- Marking and Assessment
- Academic Support
- Organisation and Management
- Learning Resources
- Student Voice
- Metal Wellbeing Services
- Freedom of Expression
- Open text question
If you have any questions about the National Student Survey, please visit The Student Survey or contact Ipsos MORI.
Why should I take part?
Nobody knows your course experience better than you and that's why we need you to tell us about your time here at Huddersfield.
Your Student Voice will provide us with a true picture of what your learning experience has been like and this will be used to make a real difference to you and your fellow students.
Prospective students use the results from the NSS to help them to choose where and what they want to study.
How can I take part?
In January when the survey opens Ipsos MORI will contact you directly inviting you to take part in the survey by:
- Complete the survey here
- Over the phone
It only takes about ten minutes to complete the core NSS questions.
