If you need personal care whilst on campus, this is not funded or supplied by the University and you will need to speak to your Social Services Department about this in the first instance. If you would like to live away from home whilst studying for your degree but require support with your daily living activities, you may be able to receive funding through your Local Authority for direct payments to help with this.
Disability Services can assist with support on the campus for practical tasks such as navigating the campus, note taking, carrying items, opening doors, operating lifts. Please contact Disability Services so we can discuss your needs further.
You will be responsible for the storage and taking of medication whilst in Higher Education. Make early arrangements to ensure your GP is in the location of the University, you have an appropriate and safe place to store medication and you can take the medications as and when required.
All students of the University can get an exclusive discount of 15% at MedicAlert. Simply use code UOH15.
