Muslim Chaplain
I completed my Qur’an memorisation and Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Leicester and further specialised in Fiqh (Islamic law & jurisprudence) at Darul Uloom Blackburn.
I am currently an Imam and Education Lead at the Lindley Eden Centre where I lead daily prayers, deliver speeches, organise Islamic studies classes and work with volunteers on initiatives & events for the local community.
As Muslim Chaplain, my role is to plan and facilitate opportunities for worship and study, which includes leading and organising the Friday Jumuah prayer. I am available to provide pastoral and spiritual support to staff and students off all backgrounds. I am working with the Chaplaincy team to provide a welcoming and uplifting environment at the Faith Centre and across campus.
Feel free to contact me via phone or email if I can help you with anything.

Chinese Speaking Faith Advisers
Hello from Robert and Christine! We were once overseas students in the UK, and we do understand what campus life is like. We are currently leading the Leeds Alliance Church which is a Chinese Church in Leeds where Robert is Minster in Charge. Before coming to the UK, Robert received his theology training at the Alliance Bible Seminary in Hong Kong and was a Pastor for two churches over 10 years; while Christine worked in the arts and culture sector. We have two energetic boys to keep us active and lively!
We can speak Cantonese, Putonghua and English and we are are happy to meet you to talk about Christianty faith, pray for you, offer help and advice, or simply have a chat and a coffee. Please don't hesitate to contact us. We hope to meet you soon!

Anglican Chaplain and Multi Faith Chaplin Coordinator
I am happy to be part of the chaplaincy team at the university as the Anglican Chaplain (Church of England). Part of my role is about being available to both staff and students within the university community and ensuring there is faith, spirituality, and religious provision on campus. l am also the new Vicar of Christ Church, Moldgreen and St James Rawthorpe, approximately 10 mins walk from Campus. l also liaise with university faith societies and community groups outside campus who are interested in running religious/spiritual activities in the More in Common Centre.
Feel free to greet or grab me for a chat. I will be more than happy to talk on any subject (including religious topics too) over coffee or tea. I am interested in your experiences, especially during and after Covid-19, the cost-of-living crisis and living in the new normal. It’s in these circumstances that a chaplain might help, working as a member of student services. With the health and wellbeing team, we will be there to offer pastoral and spiritual support to staff and students. The focus of the multi-faith chaplaincy is to offer holistic care, to ensure that each of us flourish in all areas of our lives.
Hindu Chaplain
As a member of the Chaplaincy team at the University for many years, I have enjoyed providing spiritual support to students from all backgrounds. I have been involved in organising a number of faith based discussion panels and engagement events, where students have posed some very important and challenging questions around faith based issues.
I am based at the Hindu Temple in Huddersfield, opposite the University, where I hold regular educational sessions on Hinduism for community groups and students of all ages. I have travelled extensively around the world, delivering lectures on Hinduism and Interfaith cooperation.
