LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com)

The University subscribes to LinkedIn Learning, which is free for students, PGRs and staff. To login, click on 'Login with your organisation portal' and use your University username and password. LinkedIn Learning provides an online training library of high quality video courses on topics such as those below and many more:

FutureLearn

FutureLearn is a private company owned by The Open University. They offer free high quality online courses in subjects such as:

  • Language and culture
  • Business and management
  • Science and technology
  • Health and psychology
  • Research integrity

Coursera

Coursera is based in the USA. Their courses include recorded video lectures and community discussion forums, mainly developed by universities and educational institutions. These courses are not free but there are over 2000 to choose from in a wide variety of specialisms.

The NCCPE offers a range of professional development and training opportunities to support the development of high quality engagement work. 

Graham Gibbs

Graham Gibbs (Reader in Social Research Methods at the University of Huddersfield) has a series of useful YouTube videos about social research methods and research design.

Tara Brabazon

Tara Brabazon (Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Cultural Studies at Flinders University, Australia) also has a useful series of YouTube VLOGs about many PGR and research related topics including thesis writing, understanding feedback, research impact, supervisor training and many more.
