The Toast House

The Toast House, providing exactly what it says on the tin. A perfectly simple breakfast menu to takeout or eat in. Freshly ground Matthew Algie Coffee and a hot lunch offer of soup, jacket potatoes and homemade toastie specials.

This Grade II-Listed building has an interesting history, originally built by local firm Thomas Broadbent and Sons as a bath house. Remodeling has seen the building transformed, on your next visit keep an eye out any of the existing features. 

The Toast house is a popular space for individual and group working with relaxed soft comfortable seating spread over two floors and outside.

Café Central, Level 4, Student Central 

At Café Central our passion for coffee and cake is rivalled only by our love of sharing it!

Located just next to iPoint, Café Central is the coffee hub of the University.  We believe that exceptional coffee comes from exceptional beans and we proudly serve Starbucks Arabica beans in all our Café Central coffee creations.

Whether you are needing a quick and punchy espresso, a warming latte or treating yourself to a caramel macchiato, we have the coffee for you.

If coffee’s not your thing we also a wide selection of teas and hot chocolate based drinks.  Keep an eye out for our seasonal specials – our favourites are the Strawberries and Crème Frappucino and the Pumpkin Spiced Latte…delicious!  If you’re feeling peckish we also have a vast range of sandwich and snack items on offer, including Halal, Gluten Free and Vegan options.

Pulse Café

Our newest outlet, the Pulse Cafe boasts a WELL standard menu featuring a hot breakfast and lunch offer, salads, sandwiches and jacket potatoes.  Our hot drinks range features coffee from Huddersfield based Bean Brothers roastery and loose leaf speciality tea from Porter Hill Tea Company, based in the Town Centre.
