All Postgraduate Research Students are expected to complete their award before they will be invited to a ceremony. Please note that 'award' means that you have completed the examination process to the point of Registry being formally notified by your examination team that your award has been conferred and is not subject to any further amendments or revisions.

If you have any queries about your examination progress to date and the stages required to complete your award to be eligible to attend this graduation ceremony, please speak to your School Research Office in the first instance.

In the majority of cases, research students will be offered a place at a ceremony which is the most relevant to their studies, both in terms of School and Department. However, where a ceremony has several research students eligible to be awarded or where there is a large number of undergraduate students invited, a suitable alternative will be offered. Deferrals to later ceremonies are not permitted on such grounds.
