Our in-person welcome event offers new students the opportunity to meet your Disability Adviser and discuss your support requirements. You will be allocated to a group on arrival and have the chance to meet staff from support services across the University, tour the campus and become familiar with the library facilities. There is also an optional tour of ActiveHud, our sports facilities and the Student Union.

 

Programme of events

Time Description
9.15 - 9.45am Register for the event in the Lobby of Oastler Building
9.45 - 10.15am Join staff for a warm welcome to the event. Learn more about the support available via the Disability and Wellbeing teams, the Careers and Employability Service and the Library. You'll also be given more information about HudStudy - a service providing support and training on software to assist you in your studies - the Students' Union and ActiveHud, our sports and fitness activities provision.
10.15am, 11.15am and 12.15pm

The opportunity to take part in each of the following events:

  • A campus tour

  • A familiarisation of the library resources and facilities

  • A chance for a quick meeting with your adviser and speak to staff about services across the University

1.30pm

An optional tour of our sports facilities and the Students' Union.

There is no parking on the University campus unless you have a disability related requirement, however there is parking available nearby. Further information about long and short stay options is available on the car parking page of the University web site.
