Prayer and worship on campus

Muslim prayer

Our Muslim chaplain, Imam Muhammad Patel, coordinates and leads our Muslim prayer provision on campus. The More in Common Centre has both a sisters and brothers prayer room, with adjacent wudu and shoe storage facilities. These are accessible daily to students and staff during centre opening hours.

Muslim Chaplaincy services through the week include 

Tuesday & Wednesday 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Talk to the Imam 1:1 on campus or online. Arrange via email or Microsoft Bookings.

Friday 12.00 - 2.00pm

Jumuah 1:

12:15pm: Speech

12:30pm: Khutbah & Salaah

Jumuah 2:

1:05pm: Speech

1:20pm: Khutbah & Salaah

Friday 2.00 – 3.00pm

Imam Drop-in at the Jo Cox More in Common Centre. Walk in without appointment to meet the Imam for anything you want to discuss.

Friday 4.00 – 5.00pm

Lessons on Seerah (Life of the Prophet Muhammad), Q&A (Ask the Imam Anything!) and more.

Christian prayer and worship

There is a Christian prayer room in the centre which is bookable for prayer meetings through contacting moreincommon@hud.ac.uk

When this is not booked, feel free to use it as a quiet space for personal reflection and contemplation.
