Support for women and girls

KCRASAC (Kirklees and Calderdale Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre) is a women led and women centred organisation providing a safe space where women can discuss their needs confidentially. KCRASAC offers services by women for women and girls aged 13 or over. It provides local services, self-help guides, a confidential helpline and counselling.

Women Centre Calderdale and Kirklees provides emotional and practical support on issues such as debt, benefits, mental or physical health and domestic violence. A counselling service is available.

West Yorkshire Survivors – A specialist sexual violence abuse support service. They do not work with sexual offenders.

Ascent Advice Line is a national helpline offering support and advice to women who have experienced sexual abuse, rape and domestic violence. Support can also be offered for those who have experienced child sexual abuse.

Women Against Rape is a multi-racial group that works closely with black women’s rape action project and works with women seeking asylum. It supports women and girls who have suffered sexual, domestic and/or racist violence, including survivors of any age, race and nationality, asylum seekers, women with disabilities, trans women and sex workers. It provides rights information, support and advocacy.

Women’s Aid Federation supports women and children who have experienced domestic abuse or sexual violence. It has a handbook for help on housing, safety planning and dealing with the Police.

Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds (SARSVL) is a dedicated rape crisis centre for all women and girls in Leeds affected by rape and sexual violence. It is an independent feminist organisation offering a women only safe space, that is also trans inclusive.

Bradford Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Survivors Service – BRC & SASS supports women and girls who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Support includes counselling, BAME support, advocacy for refugees & asylum seekers and girls & young women.

Basic Yorkshire supports indoor and street sex workers who identofy as women.
