Ever thought about making something…from something that already exists? Our Repurposing and Recycling workshop will explore tips and tricks around how to repurpose materials, garments and haberdashery into new pieces. Simultaneously utilizing existing materials to keep production costs down and advocate for a more sustainable future.
Our earth currently has enough garments to cloth the next 9 generations…so why are we making more!? This one-off workshop will give you the insight into common pitfalls, innovative ways to purpose, and the opportunity to bring in your own piece to discuss recycling options.
The course is led by our Maker Space Technician, Meg, who has over a decade of experience in fashion, textiles and bespoke garment creation in a mix of industry settings. Meg has the fundamental knowledge and techniques needed to create custom-made patterns for a variety of garments.
