How to change your password

The Self-Service Password Reset System (SSPR) allows you to change your password or unlock your account if you forget your password both on and off campus.

You can visit the Password Reset System at any time from on or off campus to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your password

If you have already enrolled with the SSPR system, you can use this to change your password or unlock your account if you forget your password both on and off campus.

Simply visit the Password Reset System at any time from on or off campus to reset your password.

If you have not enrolled, and can’t remember your password, please contact IT Support by calling 01484 473737 or visiting the Help Desk in the Library (Level 4, Schwann Building).

If you want to change your password on campus 

Once you have successfully logged in to a campus PC you can change your password as follows:

  • Press the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys simultaneously.
  • Click on the 'CHANGE A PASSWORD' option shown on the screen.
  • Type in your old password.
  • Press the TAB key and enter your new password.
  • Press the TAB key again and retype your new password in the 'Confirm New Password' box.
  • Click on the arrow icon.

Password tips

We recommend that you use a complex password - a minimum of 16 characters, including upper and lower case letters, and some numbers or special characters. It is also recommended that you don't include your name as part of the password.
