This Student Can: Meg Morley

I'm Meg, the current Students' Union Activities Officer (2021-22). I am a local student from Halifax studying Automotive & Motorsport Engineering, and I chose to stay at home and commute rather than move into student accommodation. However, I haven't let this stop me from getting involved as much as possible during my time here; I joined the engineering society in 2018 during my foundation year and was elected president in 2020. I have taken a year out of my studies to work as an officer. I will return next year to finish my final year with the hope of securing a place on a graduate scheme in 2023.

An update for you, I have now finished my degree. I took my own advice that I would give to students as an officer and used the careers service to help prepare for a job interview I had. It was beneficial, and I was successful; they liked my experience as an officer and trustee. I will start in September 2023 as a graduate project manager with Jacobs, a global engineering consultancy company in their energy, security & technology sectors.
